SUMMARY:Community focus group: Crime and police issues
DESCRIPTION:Jennifer Burbridge\, the Seattle University Graduate Research Analyst who has been working with Southwest Precinct police is holding community meetings again this year to hear from you. \nLast summer I conducted crime and safety focus groups with all the micro-communities in the Southwest Precinct. These focus groups were semi-structured and lasted about 1 hour. Some of these focus groups were held during regularly scheduled community meetings\, and others were held as separate meetings. \nThis summer\, I will be conducting focus groups again! I am again interested in talking to all the micro-communities in the Southwest Precinct area about knowledge of the micro-community policing plan project\, interactions with the Seattle Police Department\, crime and safety concerns and suggested improvements for each of your unique neighborhoods! \nIn case residents are unsure what community they fall under\, the following website has an MCPP locator map\, where residents can see the boundaries for the micro-communities throughout West Seattle\, with the exception of the micro-community of South Delridge/Delridge Triangle (this micro-community has not been updated on the SPD map yet): http://www.seattle.gov/Police/MCPP/default.htm \nHere is a list of the focus groups I have scheduled as of right now\, including what community it is focusing on and when/where the focus group is being held: \n–Wednesday June 29th 6-7 pm ALASKA JUNCTION (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \n–Thursday June 30th 7-8 pm FAUNTLEROY (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \n–Monday July 11th 7-8 pm PIGEON POINT (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \n–Wednesday July 13th 6-7 pm HIGH POINT (at the High Point Neighborhood House- 6400 Sylvan Way SW) \n–Monday July 18th 7-8 pm NORTH ADMIRAL (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \n–Wednesday July 20th 7-9 pm MORGAN JUNCTION (second half of the Morgan Community Association meeting- at the Kenny Retirement Home- 7125 Fauntleroy Way SW) \n–Monday July 25th 7-8 pm SOUTH PARK (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \n–Wednesday July 27th 7-8:30 pm HIGHLAND PARK (at the Highland Park Action Committee meeting- at the Highland Park Improvement Club- 12th Ave SW and SW Holden St) \n–Monday August 1st 6:15-7:45 pm WESTWOOD/ROXHILL/ARBOR HEIGHTS (at the Westwood/Roxhill/Arbor Heights community meeting- at the SW Branch of the Seattle Public Library in the meeting room- 9010 35th Ave SW) \n–Monday August 8th 6-7pm SOUTH DELRIDGE/DELRIDGE TRIANGLE (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \n–Wednesday August 10th 6-7 pm ALKI (at the SW Precinct community meeting room- 2300 SW Webster St) \nShare This
