SUMMARY:'Wine Tasting' fundraiser for Furry Faces Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Save the date – October 5th from 3-6 pm! From Teri Ensley at Furry Faces Foundation: \nIt’s a Wine Tasting! Here’s how it works:\nEach person brings a bottle of red or white wine. Upon arrival it is wrapped in foil and assigned a number\, with the ‘type of wine’ written on it\, e.g.\, Merlot (you need to remember the number of your bottle). Reds and whites are separated onto different tables. You walk about with your (F3 provided) wine glass\, mingling with really cool people\, pouring your own tastes. Write your thoughts on your (F3 provided) tasting card. \nAt the end of the evening\, you vote for your favorite wine of the evening and turn it in. We tally the votes. There will be a gift card prize for the #1 Red and the #1 White. There will be some nibbles and noshes\, however\, you may want to eat a good lunch ahead of time because if say 50 people attend…that’s 50 bottles of wine to taste! \nThis event is to help raise the funds for Furry Faces Foundation’s 501(c)3* $800.00 application fee. We will have a suggested donation amount at our check in table…something reasonable like $10ish. It’s only suggested; not required to attend. The donation jar will not be on the check in table–it’ll be in some other\, super cool place\, so there is no pressure. \n* We are a Washington State Charity/non-profit and have decided to apply for our 501 (c) 3 status. \nShare This

SUMMARY:Two Beers Brewing Company & Seattle Cider Company tasting event
DESCRIPTION:Stop in at Metropolitan Market/Admiral (WSB sponsor) Friday October 17th\, 4–6:00 pm: \nSeattle is lucky to be home to more than a fair share of breweries\, but far fewer cideries forge spots in the landscape. Seattle Cider Company is owned and operated by the folks behind the popular Two Beers Brewing Company. \nThe first cidery since Prohibition in these parts\, they scour the state for the best apples for each variety they make. In order to get the best flavor\, they pick apples at the peak of freshness\, press them\, and hold the juice in barrels until it’s time to blend for target taste. The zero bris dry cider boasts an ephemeral “on and off the palate” flavor\, which Dan Armerding (tasting room manager) says adds to its ability to go with “just about anything\, especially foods like asparagus and fish.” \nTheir fall seasonal flavor\, Pumpkin Spice\, is definitely worth a second sip. With the inclusion of pumpkin in the pressing\, co-owner Mark Satterly says they aimed for “full-on pumpkin flavor\, but with an apple backbone\,” keeping it more in the pleasing realm of a pie-spiced cider. The clove\, nutmeg\, cinnamon\, ginger\, and allspice flavors bring great complexity without a lot of sweetness. \nStop in to meet your favorite brewers while you sip their beers and nosh on snacks.* \n* To join us for a complimentary tasting\, you must be at least 21 and provide valid identification upon your onetime entry (no exceptions). Limited to food\, four servings of wine or beer\, and space available. Please note: final pour will be 15 minutes before the tasting is closed to ensure that you will have time to taste all the offerings. \nShare This
