WordsWest returns for a night

May 25, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 7:15 pm

“Bringing the Band Back Together Again for a Book Launch”
Susan Rich, Katy E. Ellis, and Harold Taw

7:00 pm, Wed., May 25th, 2022
C & P Coffee Co., 5612 California Ave. SW

We come to poetry and story in times of celebration and grief. We come to hear the truth and to discover the extraordinary bravery in the ordinariness of our daily lives. In these times, we need literature more than ever.

Susan Rich is the author of five poetry collections including the just released, Gallery of Postcards and Maps: New and Selected Poems, Salmon Poetry. Her poems appear in Alaska Quarterly Review, New England Review, Poetry Ireland, and O Magazine. She is the director of Poets on the Coast: A Weekend Retreat for Women. Visit her at http://poetsusanrich.com

Katy E. Ellis’ debut full length prose-poetry-novel Home Water, Home Land is forthcoming from Tolsun Books in September 2022. Her work has appeared in numerous publications in the U.S., including Pithead Chapel, American Journal of Poetry, and in Canadian journals PRISM International, Grain and Fiddlehead.

Harold Taw is a multi-form writer. His debut novel was Adventures of the Karaoke King. His writing has been featured on NPR, in a New York Times bestselling anthology, and in The Seattle Times. He co-wrote a musical adaptation of Jane Austen’s final novel Persuasion, which premiered at Seattle’s Taproot Theatre, and is currently co-writing a steampunk musical that traverses parallel universes.

WordsWest was curated by West Seattle writers Katy E. Ellis, Susan Rich, and Harold Taw from 2014 to 2019. Occasionally, we hope to continue pop-up events.
