Seattle Parks and Recreation hosts Youth Forum

Teens who participate in Seattle Parks and Recreation’s youth programs have organized a community youth-led forum to get input from other teens on Seattle Parks and Recreation programs. Teens and parents are invited to attend this event, which will feature small-group discussions in a round-table setting.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, December 5, from 5:30 — 7 p.m. at the Garfield Teen Life Center, 428 23rd Ave. Teens between the ages of 13 and 19 are invited to attend. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.

“We want input from those who participate in our programs — and even those who don’t participate in our programs,” said Experiential Learning Coordinator Cindy Sandino-Chang. “We want to talk about what they like, what they don’t like, and what suggestions they have.”

The forum was conceived of by teens, and will be led by teens. Ideas and suggestions from the forum will be implemented in 2013.
