Speaking of Dying – 30 Minute Film and time for questions and answers

“Speaking of Dying”, a 30 minute documentary film, is meant to change this pattern by shining a bright light on death and by giving us a pathway for a better ending. It is part of a growing cultural awareness that we all must pay attention to “last things” before there is a crisis.

This visually beautiful movie captures the stories of people who have become comfortable with speaking of dying. Many have come to this comfort through their participation in the pioneering workshops of chaplain Trudy James, the movie producer, and her Heartwork workshops–which are now offered widely in the Seattle area by trained Heartwork facilitators. The interviews and stories in the film reveal the complexities of our end of life choices in today’s medical environment and show us positive images, resources and attitudes that offer empowerment to the viewer. We have more control over our endings than we may think.
