I started an Instagram account called @electiondaycake, in honor of a colonial-era tradition of cake as sustenance for weary travelers after casting their votes. The recipe that I wrote about here is a yeasted coffee cake that I have tweaked over the years.

I’ll be passing out samples of Election Day Cake Sunday 11/4 at the farmers market, 10:30-11:30 or so, then zip over to Capitol Hill FM to do more of the same. I’ll have copies of the recipe too for anyone who wants to host their own ED party/gathering.
