“K” e-mailed us to ask if we have any taco truck recommendations, in WS or White Center vicinities. Sorry to say, we haven’t gotten any more exotic than Taqueria Guaymas. Anyone with a recommendation for “K”?
The one across the street from Papa Murphy’s in White Center got props on KUOW a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t been there yet though so cannot attest to this personally.
Having moved here from San Diego, where there is good authentic mexican food I have to say it’s hard to find that here. We like TG the best and would be happy with any other recommendations.
The Seattle Weekly did a comparison of about 6 locations, and one in White Center got rave reviews, I think the article was about a year ago – might be in their archives or still running in the current review summary section.
There are at least two trucks and one bus in White Center. Make sure you get to the right one.
The best local truck we have found is in White Center on SW 98th St, just west of 15h Ave. Doesn’t get any better (or cheaper) than this. We are there about once a month, expecially after a trek to Trader Joe’s in Burien. Try the al pastor tacos. Google “Taqueria La Fondita” for more info.
Taqueria Guayamas is also a real place, and the White Center TG has a different menu than the Junction one. Check out the one closer to you, then check out the other one.
Yeah, one to hit is next to Dairy Quenn’s in White Center. Its the one with the Yellow big sign. He makes it fresh right in front of you on a grill. And its also very cheap and plentiful.
For all your local taco truck locations and reviews you can check out:
not sure how often it is updated or how complete it is, but there you have it.
Oh yes, Me Gusto Taqueria Del Rio, right behind McLendon’s on 16th in White Center. Not a truck – there’s a small Mexican grocery there as well, and Very much worth the (short) trip.

One of my fellow bloggers on Rain City Guide a mapping system for Taco Trucks!
I think the one mentioned by Max is the one I’ve been to – the real deal. And on a related subject, if anyone loves a good torta – then try La Estacion on Ambaum (around 145th?) in Burien. I’ve tried most of the places in the Seattle area and they are definitely the best.
Muchas Gracias to all! I look forward to a week filled with delicious food! I LOVE THE WEST SEATTLE BLOG!
“Let’s talk tacos, amigo”… sort of reminds me of Amigo Taco. You’ve got to be pretty old school to remember that place – my favorite video game hangout in my youth.
If you’re willing to venture into South Park, there’s always Muy Macho on 14th. Very authentic, very cheap.
Sorry, comment time is over.
