Traffic reminder: Northbound Viaduct/99 closed

Just a reminder if you are headed out of West Seattle today – the northbound Alaskan Way Viaduct/99 is closed because of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, and scheduled to remain closed till 3:30 pm. (Here’s the full list of race-related closures.)

Once again it’s hell leaving WS. Give yourself A LOT of time if you need to leave. I-5 N is awful too.

Kelli – this is a one-day, marathon-only closure. No 99 (or bridge) closures scheduled here tomorrow.

with all the construction closures of the viaduct lately, wish they could hold off on these other ones. run in the downtown streets a couple extra times instead.

luckily we don’t have to leave WS today.

Even in the best of times, before endless inspections and road construction closures, it always annoyed me a bit to have the viaduct closed for this and that runs, walks, and marathons. Today, I was exponentially more annoyed…my mantra….”really?!?! really!?!? REALLY!” I cannot wait to find a hobby or cause that can truly impact and inconvenience others who are just trying to get their stuff done, go to work, be a good citizen
