Young West Seattleites in this year’s Pacific NW Ballet “Nutcracker”

Two weeks till Christmas! And while it seems the holidays are busy for everyone – imagine being part of your city’s best-known holiday production. More than a dozen West Seattle students, from a second-grader up to a 12-grader, are part of the Pacific Northwest Ballet‘s “Nutcracker this year, and in case you’re among the many people going to see it as its run continues through December 27th, we thought you’d like to know. Photo above was shared by Keegan Daley’s mom Sue – if you are a parent of any of the other West Seattleites in the cast, we’d be happy to add more photos – editor@wsb.blackfin.biz – thanks!)

Congrats to all these kids making the cut in a HUGE production like this. These kids put in a ton of hard work and are extremely talented. Very cool, impressed to see such a big list from West Seattle.

Congratulations to all! One of my favorite childhood memories is of being a rat and a party guest in my town’s Nutcracker production… nothing as large scale as the Pacific Ballet! Learning a dance of any kind takes a tremendous amount of dedication and hard work but it gives such joy and satisfaction in return. Have a wonderful time performing in the Nutcracker!

It is wonderful to see how many young West Seattle performers are in this year’s production of the Nutcracker!

There are some older West Seattle folks taking part in the magic, too – West Seattle’s Olio Glee Club will be singing carols in the lobby before the show and during intermission at the December 17th, 2 p.m. performance. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of one of Seattle’s most beloved holiday traditions.

There are also five wardrobe and stage technicians working backstage on the Nutcracker who call West Seattle home :)

Ailee was an amazing baby mouse. I went to the opening night show and was so impressed by her stage presence. Of course I am a bit biased, being her father and all.

Sorry, comment time is over.
