David Hutchinson shares that photo of a crow at Don Armeni while wondering if it too is grumpy about the gray/wet weather. On the semi-bright side, the forecast as of this hour suggests a rainy morning lifting to a chance-of-showers afternoon.
Ahh yes, the common every day crow…the bird that people shoot at, toss their scraps at, blame for everything and shoo away, finally has his day…in a picture no less for the entire day!!!! Even a crow is beautiful close up… and i doubt a little bad weather will dampen his feathers!

That is a Baby Crow! Hope it got back to it’s nest before a cat or Hawk got it!!!!
It is a baby, that’s why it is so cute… but I love crows, they are smart and funny birds. Very nice photo.
dufus! I love crows too! They are absolutely the smartest Bird there is! We have a crow friend that has been a “friend” for years, yes, we know it’s the same one because of the way it “can’t” crow, it kinda squaks at us … watches us work in the yard … picks up the worms and bugs we loosen in the garden, follows right after us!
I like crows too. Clever, they are. For a bird. :)
Did you all know that immature crows have blue eyes? Quite a striking and beautiful contrast. As the bird matures, they turn to dark brown.

Did you know that the crow’s average lifespan is 7-8 years in the wild and that they roost in those huge colonies usually just during the fall and winter. During the other seasons they are busy courting, mating and raising the kids.

Kim – I wish we had the administrative oomph that would take – in the short run, whenever a photographer has her/his own site, we link it – I don’t believe David H. does, or if he does, he has never shared it with us. He is an awesome photographer and very humble person and I think he could have a nice sideline selling stuff (he also by the way is a hardworking volunteer – he and wife Eilene Hutchinson have given countless hours to the Alki Statue of Liberty Plaza project among other things) … TR, always honored when one of his photos lands in our e-box!
